Basic Beliefs

Our foremost and often most misunderstood belief is that of our faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that He is literally the son of God (spiritually and physically). As children of God we are all brothers and sisters to Jesus Christ (our spirits that are within our bodies once lived with God and left His presence to receive a mortal body here on earth). Christ is the only child of God that has lived or will live a perfect, sinless life. It is this purity that is required to return and live with our Father in heaven (God).

Because the rest of us fall short of the requirements to return and live with our Heavenly Father (God), God prepared a way for all of us to return and live with Him. At the center of His plan is our Savior Jesus Christ. It is only through the sacrifice that He made, known as the Atonement, that we can be cleansed from sin and qualify for the blessing of returning to God with our families. It is only through Christ that this is possible and that is why He is the most important part of all of our beliefs. It is our belief and faith in Him that come all of the other teachings that we have; and those teachings come from Christ himself.

Purpose of This Site

This blog was created with the intent to help others understand more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, commonly known today as "Mormons."

I hope that if any of you at any time have sincere questions about "Mormonism" that you will post your comments or questions and I will respond to you as soon as I can.

I myself am a Mormon, and as such I believe that I can address any questions or concerns about our religion better than a person that is not a member or a person that does not actively practice our religion; anyone not actively engaged in living the principles taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints cannot fully explain our beliefs or why we believe the things we do.
